FINE DINING IN JOBURG | ROOTS RESTAURANT

Happy Monday!
Thanks to Roots restaurant, I am lucky enough to have started my week on a very good note!

What better way to end off the weekend than with a fantastic fine dining experience at the famous Roots Restaurant located at the Forum Homini Boutique Hotel. If you have read my previous post regarding my fabulous staycation at the Forum Homini Boutique Hotel, you would have seen that I had the pleasure of enjoying a magnificent 6 course dinner and 5 course breakfast at the Roots Restaurant.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious 4 course lunch at Roots Restaurant that was accompanied with a wine pairing.

For our first dish we enjoyed a delicious Risotto glazed with baby carrot, roasted carrot puree, pumpkin seeds, burned corn and onion ash. The dish was paired with a glass of Lammershoek that perfectly complimented the meal.

The second dish consisted of a Herb Crumble Sea bass topped with baby spinach, pickled shimeji, cauliflower puree, anchovies, brown rice, grilled tomato and pickled red peppers. It was then served with a glass of Zevenwacht Sauvignon Blac, which tasted so scrumptious. This dish was light and refreshing and really got my taste buds excited for what else was to come.

For our main meal, we had the pleasure of enjoying a Roasted Venison Loin accompanied with broccoli, roscoff onion, ashed aubergine puree, snails, mashed potato, Cafe De Paris butter, chickpea puree, walnut crumble and button mushrooms. Although I am not a fan of snails, I still enjoyed most of the dish. As I love a good red wine, the Rietvallei Esteanna Red Blend, that was paired with this dish, was by far my favourite out of the lot.

Finally, for dessert we enjoyed a delicious Coconut Pana Cotta, which was topped with peanut butter crack, mini sugar donouts, pineapple sorbet and chocolate peanut popcorn. I am not a fan of sweet dessert wine, however, the Glen Carlou, The Welder, dessert wine that was paired with our dessert was actually very tasty.

Each dish had it's own unique flavours, which complimented one another perfectly. What a pleasant lunch it was. I highly recommend booking a lunch at Roots Restaurant if you are planning a trip just outside of Johannesburg.

WHAT TO WEAR TO WIMBLEDON | TAIFUN | GERRY WEBER

One of the biggest week's in the game of tennis has officially kicked off and I'm loving the Wimbledon attire.

It just doesn't get better than summer in London, watching the tennis and sipping of G&T's!

The question however is, "What do I wear to Wimbledon?"

During the Wimbledon Championships Gerry Weber and Taifun have been showcasing the best Wimbledon fashion through their new summer collections. The elegant streamlines, coral & pastel colours as well as the light and breezy materials used, make for the perfect Wimbledon attire.
In collaboration with Taifun I picked out this gorgeous summer dress from their new summer collection. The dress comes in many patterns and colours but as you may know, I am a sucker for nude tones and I absolutely love the colour of this dress. It not only makes me feel very elegant, but is also the perfect summer dress to wear out to an event such as Wimbledon. Even if you are not a Tennis fanatic like I am, this dress is perfect to wear to any summer party. It is easy to wear, matches pretty much anything paired with it and looks so flawless behind any back drop.

In sticking with the neutral tones I paired this dress with these cute block heels and my all time favourite Fendi Peekaboo bag.

I hope you enjoy the Wimbledon Final this weekend!

FAVORITE SUMMER TOP | BELLFIELD CLOTHING

Hello pretty people!

Back again with a style post today. If you have been following me on Instagram you would have seen I have just recently come back from a trip away at the Forum Homini Hotel, which you can read all about over here!

Yes it is winter here in South Africa but, like I have mentioned in many of my previous winter outfit posts, the weather in South Africa during winter is really not that cold. The sun is always shining and by midday the temperature is sitting at about 22C (72F). Despite the early mornings and evenings being much colder, I suppose I cannot complain about a South African winter.
In exactly 2 months today, I am off to the Mediterranean, (Malta to be exact) for a nice 2 week break. Although I have traveled quite extensively along the Mediterranean coast line, I have never been to the island of Malta. I am super excited to travel experience this island. If you guys have any tips on things to do, places to go and experience, please drop your comments down below! I would love to know!

Summer is obviously my favourite season and luckily I will be able to catch the last bit of the Summer weather in Europe at the end of August and then when I return, it will be spring in South Africa which is actually such a nice time of the year as it is not too hot.
I love this blouse from Bellfield Clothing, I think it is the perfect summer blouse because it's light and breezy but it won't leave you feeling cold when the sun goes down. I love the subtle patterns along the front of the blouse and the cute bell sleeves that give it such a airy feel. This blouse suits the Mediterranean setting perfectly.
