NORTHERN NAMIBIA | A DESTINATION LESS EXPLORED

Happy New Year dolls!

As the quote by St. Augustine goes - "The world is a book and those who do not travel only read one page." Travelling is really such a wonderful thing.

This festive season I was lucky enough to travel up to Namibia which is situated south west of South Africa. With a very dominate German culture, I felt like I was traveling into an "African Germany." Not only does this country have most amazing climate all year round but Namibia has the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets in the world.

My first stop was to the capital city of Windhoek. With a quick layover I couldn't experience much in the city however I did stop over at this super cool and eccentric Beer Garden called Joes Beerhouse. If you into beer, biltong and bratwurst, Joes Beerhouse is the place to be! After Windhoek I travelled up north to a small town called Tsumeb about 2 hours from the Angolan border. With an average climate of about 36C everyday in summer, this place is killer when sitting in the sun. Tsumeb is a mining town and is the closest town to the Etosha National Park. A MUST SEE!

Not far from Tsumeb I travelled to Uris Safari Lodge, a private lodge for a wedding. It was peaceful and sceneic and was great to be around family and friends.

Although I wasn't able to travel further around the country, I do recommend, if travelling to Namibia, to visit the famous dunes in Sossusvlei as well as the beautiful skeleton coast and Swakopmund.

Namibia has so much to offer and is one the very few countries in the world with the most diverse landscapes. If you wanting to experience the diversity in this beautiful african country, I highly recommend it!
